I've been to LP 3-4 times now and every single time they exceed expectations; last night I celebrated my birthday there and it was excellent as always. Service is fantastic. The front of house staff was very accommodating when I asked to change my reservation and nothing on RESY was available. The presentation, food quality and ambiance is great. The menu is creative and execution of each dish is near perfect. The drinks are made well and the energy of our waitress last night was particularly fun, engaging and extremely positive. Will continue to come back again and again.
Great seasonal restaurant! Their menu and food offerings change with the seasons, as it should be. Love restaurants that follow the seasons= fresh food! Therefore, they have freshest ingredients and know how to make a great margarita with organic tequila, so no hangover! At least thats wheat they told me :) My friend and I sat at the bar, highly recommend the gem salad, tuna crudo and ricotta with bread - and of course a margarita with their organic tequila, ha! Great for dinner with friends, casual get together or date night. It accommodates everyone's needs on any day or season. Looking forward to the nest time.
I came here for a team of 10 dinner, so didn't take pictures of the food. We got the snap peas and mushroom pizzas. The mushroom pizza was good, but was expected from the description. The snap peas pizza was so unique and tasty! For starters we also got hummus which came with piping hot pita bread, both delicious! We also got the tuna crudo and artic char sashimi, both of these were small for the price, but tasty. The charred broccolis could've been skipped, also tasted what you'd expect it to be like. My teammates really enjoyed the fried tempura asparagus, but I didn't get to try. One of them said he would go back just for it! For drinks I got the pomegranate & hibiscus in house soda, which was refreshing, but a bit too tart for my liking. I wouldn't get it again, but finished it. For my main course I got the short rib, which from the smell I thought it was going to be really sweet, but it wasn't! It was tender and the pickled onions that comes with it balanced out the hearty flavor nicely. The restaurant was bigger than what you would expect looking in. Really dim lighting. Service was great initially, but it got really packed and they didn't come around to give us our checks for a while, but overall really good especially for a big group. They were constantly refilling our water.
Not only does Loring Place have a well-informed and friendly staff, their menu includes a lovely selection of options for people with various dietary preferences, and they have an ambiance that is fitting for any occasion. Dining at this restaurant was nothing short of a perfect setting to celebrate my friend and I's graduation (party of 2) and allowed us to have great conversation while still being attended to regularly. I loved their French toast, snap pea salad, and their freshly squeezed orange juice which was very refreshing. Their marinated chili sauce paired well with many of their items. Diners can expect to pay ~$30 for an appetizer and entree (pretty reasonable) and will surely enjoy their time here!
I have come here twice and everything I have ever eaten here has been exquisite! I keep eating one dish thinking it would be my favorite but then the next thing I eat is even better! Great for ordering several plates and sharing among friends. Tons of vegetarian options and the servers ask if there are any dietary restrictions or allergies to note. Speaking of service, the staff here are very attentive and keep the table clean in between courses. They never let your water glasses get empty and they are friendly and professional. This is probably my favorite restaurant in the city in terms of food. They change up their menu seasonally and you can really tell they make many dishes from a small handful of fresh and carefully selected ingredients. Can and will recommend to anyone who will listen!
I'd heard a lot of good things about this place and they were not unfounded. For one, this place oozes upscale casual dining -- dressed up or dressed down, it's a bit of an Event vibe. Special date night to impress-the-parents to the over-30 girls night out vibes. Plus the folks who works here seem chill and the food gets brought out pretty quickly. And the food itself is indeed awesome! It not only tastes great but it looks really beautiful. I came for dinner and the stand outs for me were the roasted beets (in lemon jam with goat cheese and pecans... wow!!) and the hazelnut romesco chicken. Complex but harmonious flavors that were not only interesting but made you go back for seconds immediately. They also had a really interesting wine list which I appreciate. My one complaint is the portion-to-price ratio. I paid what I expected to pay judging by the location and ambiance, but even then I'm not sure the prices are entirely justified. $17 for like 6 pieces of fried asparagus? And the grandma style pizza was fine but sadly unremarkable -- cooked in a toaster oven sized pan, the taste was more reminiscent of frozen meals than a homemade standout. Again, in New York City none of this is shocking, in fact it's pretty standard, but it just kinda relegates it to a "sometimes spot" instead of a go-to. All of that said, the great stuff was great and I would happily come back if I had a nice reason to.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience here. We started out with the squash fries and the baked ricotta. My husband had the calzone that by the looks of his completely empty plate I think he really enjoyed. I had the GF grandma pizza. All I can say is Wow! Being GF I have not had a pizza taste that good in 10 years! It was a deep dish style. The restaurant itself lovely and has a cozy feel to it. I highly recommend Loring Place.
I came here with my coworkers for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. We came during restaurant week, so I decided to go with the $30 two course menu. For the first course, I chose the crispy broccoli. It was coated in a light tempura batter and served with anchovy mayo. Absolutely delishious. For the second course, I chose the grilled salmon salad, which was served with wheat berries and some vegetables. Also very good. For dessert, a few of us shared the almond joy sundae. Amazing meal, beautiful restaurant, and good service. I'd come back in a heartbeat.
Very nice brunch experience at Loring Place. The restaurant was also nicely decorated for the holidays. NYC is just such a special place during the holidays. Food and service was very good and we all really enjoyed our meals. I wish I took more photos. I guess we were hungry and devoured our food too quickly to get a good snap! The hummus appetizer and waffle and poached eggs were very good as well. Next meal we need to try dinner! The menu looks delish!
